Layers Pilates was founded with one simple belief - that movement should feel like coming home to yourself. Born from Sarah’s own journey through change, challenge and rediscovery, Layers is a space created for women to feel seen, supported and strong in every season of life.

Why Layers Exists

Layers Pilates began as a deeply personal journey for founder Sarah – mum to three daughters and someone who never really considered herself ‘sporty.’ After training as a beauty therapist at 16, Sarah spent years helping women feel confident and cared for. She stepped away from the beauty industry over a decade ago, taking on the financial management of the business she shares with her husband - something she never intended to do but is grateful for, as it gave their family the flexibility to raise their children on their own terms. It was in her late 30s, after navigating the trauma and uncertainty of her daughter’s life threatening illness during the pandemic, that her purpose began to shift.

From Beauty to Body Connection

After decades helping women feel confident through beauty therapy, Sarah found herself searching for something more sustainable, more nourishing - not just for her clients, but for herself. It was Pilates that offered a surprising sense of clarity and balance. The physical benefits were clear, but what moved her most was the way it helped her reconnect - body, breath and mind.

Layers was created to offer that same sense of connection to other women - a welcoming space to move, breathe, and feel good in your body. No expectations. No pressure.
